The 30th Plain English Campaign annual awards 2009 took place on Tuesday 8 December at The Brewery, London. The awards were presented by Lenny Henry and included awards for the best and worst examples of written communications.
We gave awards in the following categories.
Golden Bull awards (for the worst examples of written tripe)
Foot in Mouth award (for baffling quotes by public figures)
Media awards (radio, television and newspapers)
Osborne Memorial award (for a major contribution to the plain English cause)
Plain English awards (open category)
Web award (websites)
